Our Couple of the Year for 2010



 

   Dianne and I were married in March of 1974 and will be celebrating our 36th anniversary in March of 2010. We have three children, two girls and one boy. Our oldest daughter resides in Atlanta with her husband, our second daughter and our only grandchild live in Dallas, TX and our son lives in Covington, Ga. We first became aware of GWRRA in the 80’s when we attended the Honda Hoot in Ashville, NC. With my older brother and sister-in law. We were hooked and it took us a number of years before we found the perfect ride for us. In June of 2007 we purchased our 2007 GL-1800 Motor Trike and I joined GWRRA as full members, (I was an Associate Member some time prior to that having purchased a GL1100 which I drove for about 100 miles but never felt comfortable with). Dianne joined the GWRRA about a year later. We now have a little over 16.000 miles on the trike and are looking forward to both the “Chapter A Spring Ride” and attending Wing Ding in Des Moines this summer. I am currently a certified Level III Tour rider and Dianne is certified as a Level III Co Rider.

   A native of Atlanta, Georgia. Dianne retired from government service having worked as a civilian for The Department of Defense, the US Army, and the Georgia Army National Guard. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. I retired after 27 years with the U.S. Army and Army Reserve and as the Director of Safety and Human Resources for a Regional Transportation Company. Dianne is a member of Beta Sigma Phi and stays busy with her sorority sisters and as a member of the 'Red Hat Society' plus a number of others things while I spend most of my time in my woodshop.
